SERVICES WE PROUDLY PROVIDE

Dr. Lewis is one of the premier dentists practicing Neuromuscular Dentistry in Salt Lake City. This innovative treatment addresses the nerves, muscles, and alignment of the jaw and can relieve the pain and chronic discomfort caused by Temporomandibular Joint Disorders or TMD/ TMJ. Neuromuscular Dentistry allows Dr. Lewis to achieve a perfect fit in dental solutions such as dentures and partials, and prevent TMD/TMJ from developing.

Temporomandibular Joint Disorders, TMD or TMJ

TMD/TMJ sufferers often experience chronic pain and the condition is often misdiagnosed and therefore goes untreated. Over time TMJ can cause other dental problems, including damage caused by grinding teeth. Symptoms of TMD/TMJ include:

    • Headaches
    • Grinding of teeth
    • Jaw pain
    • Clicking or popping jaw
    • Facial pain
    • Shoulder, neck, or back pain
    • Numbness in arms and fingers
    • Ringing ears (tinnitus)
    • Congested ears

Neuromuscular dentistry for TMJ/TMD Treatment

Neuromuscular dentistry is a dental treatment intended to correct a malalignment of the jaw at the temporomandibular joint and produce a balanced bite. Basically, finding where your body wants your bite to be. Dr. Jason Lewis uses several computerized instruments to measure your jaw movements and jaw muscle activity to determine the extent of your problem and to establish a physiologic rest position for the jaw. The following are some of the measurement techniques and procedures used:

Sonography

Measures vibrations from the joint when you open and close your mouth to identify joint derangements.

Electromyography (EMG)

Involves placing surface electrodes over the jaw muscles that pick up electrical impulses and sends them to the K7 recording instrument. It is used to measure the activity in the muscles during various movements.

Jaw Tracking

Analyzes mandibular movements three dimensionally. A headset is placed on the guest and a magnet is attached to the lower front teeth. Recording of the lower jaw movement is then made.

Tens

Ultra-low frequency electrical stimulation of the muscles to relieve muscle spasms and pain and help establish a physiologic jaw position.
Once the rest position of the jaw is determined, the guest looks at options of orthotics, dental procedures and/or orthodontics to maintain this new position.

Treating TMD/ TMJ:

Dr. Lewis offers comprehensive, effective TMD/TMJ treatment in a comfortable and relaxed environment. We begin by evaluating your bite alignment and nerve and muscle activity. This enables us to formulate a diagnosis and create a personalized treatment plan.

Modern technology allows us to precisely track the movements of your jaw, and determine the proper alignment. We then use transcutaneous electrical neuromuscular stimulation (TENS) to relax the muscles, stop spasms, and relieve the pain.

Dr. Lewis uses the latest technology to provide neuromuscular dentistry and TMJ solutions for you. Learn more about our guests experience with Neuromuscular Dentistry and cosmetic dentistry in our testimonials page and browse through real patient photos in our online gallery.

Get the smile you desire and deserve. Dr. Lewis strives to improve the appearance, function and health of your teeth and help you achieve your perfect smile.

Generally used to refer to any dental work that improves the appearance of a person’s teeth, gums and/or bite. Many dentists refer to themselves as “cosmetic dentists” regardless of their specific education, specialty, training and experience in the field. Dr. Jason Lewis has had extensive training and experience in this area of dentistry.

Cosmetic dentistry may involve:

  • addition of a dental material to teeth or gums – examples: bonding, porcelain veneers (laminates), crowns (caps), gum grafts;
  • removal of tooth structure or gums – examples: enameloplasty, gingivectomy;
  • adding or removing dental materials, tooth structure, or gums – examples: (bleaching), teeth whitening; and/or
  • straightening of teeth accompanied by improvement in appearance of face – orthodontics.

Cosmetic Treatments

  • Whitening

This is common cosmetic dental procedure is fast and painless. Attain a beautiful white smile under the careful supervision of Dr. Lewis. While many over the counter products offer whitening, dentist-supervised treatments ensure minimal irritation and significant results.

  • Enamel Shaping

This simple, painless process gently reshapes to improve the appearance of the tooth. It’s used to correct small chips and smoothes the surface of the tooth.

  • Contouring

Contouring is an instant treatment to correct crooked teeth, chipped teeth, cracked teeth and even overlapping teeth in just one session. The dental contouring procedure can sometimes be a substitute for braces.

  • Bonding

This process uses an enamel-like dental composite material and is applied directly to the tooth’s surface. Dr. Lewis will sculpt, shape, harden and polish the composite creating a new surface that enhances your smile without discomfort or irritation.

  • Dental Bridges

A dental bridge is used to fill in the area left by a missing tooth. This prosthetic is placed between two porcelain crowns that are attached to your own teeth. Dr. Lewis has many options to fit your unique dental and cosmetic needs. We offer fixed bridges, a permanent solution to replace one or more missing teeth and cantilever bridges, to correct teeth in your smile line. A bridge will look and feel like your own teeth and can reduce your risk of gum disease, correct bite issues and even improve your speech. With a commitment to consistent oral hygiene your bridge will last ten years or more.

  • Veneers

These ultra-thin, custom-made porcelain laminates are bonded directly to your teeth. A great option for closing gaps or disguising discolored teeth that do not respond well to whitening procedures. Our dental veneers are made from the highest quality porcelain and crafted by a trained and certified dental technician. In most cases Veneers require just two visits to complete, with little or no anesthesia required during the procedure.

  • Gum Lifting

Many people have straight teeth, but feel that their smile is impeded by an excessive gum line. Dr. Lewis can raise and sculpt your gum line to attain the appearance of longer or more symmetrical teeth. Gum tissue heals quickly and with little discomfort. This remarkably simple procedure can make an incredible difference in your smile.

  • Bite Reclamation

This procedure is a great option for people who struggle with excessive wear to their teeth caused by grinding or acid reflux. Bite reclamation opens the bite, increases vertical dimension and can even remove unwanted wrinkles. This procedure gives a more youthful appearance and often eliminates the need for plastic surgery.

State of the Art Materials

Our innovative practice provides you with the best, most ascetically pleasing fillings and tooth restorations. We use only the highest quality composite and porcelain materials to give you the appearance of natural tooth structure. Unlike silver fillings (amalgams) our treatments are entirely free of mercury and provide a safer, longer lasting solution.

UntitledIf you’re missing one or more teeth, you may be aware of their importance to your appearance and dental health. Your teeth work together for many daily functions from eating to speaking. With missing teeth, it’s difficult to do these things. Missing teeth can and should be replaced. Dental implants are a great way to restore your dental health and appearance

A surgical device is used to replace one or more missing teeth by fusing to bone and supporting a crown, bridge of teeth, denture, facial prosthetic or to act as an orthodontic anchor. The term “dental implant” refers to that portion of the structure in the bone. Other functional components may be attached to make the device functional including an abutment, to pass through the gums, an abutment screw to secure the abutment to the implant and prosthetic teeth which attach to the abutment. Collectively, the fixture and components create the dental prosthetic.

There are many advantages to dental implants, including:implantnew

    • Improved appearance

Dental implants look and feel like your own teeth. Because they are designed to fuse with bone, they become permanent.

    • Improved Speech

Poor-fitting dentures let teeth slip and cause you to mumble or slur your words. Dental implants allow you to speak with confidence and clarity without the worry of your teeth slipping.

    • Improved Comfort

Because they become a permanent part of your mouth, implants eliminate the discomfort of removable dentures.

    • Easier Eating

Sliding dentures can make chewing difficult and uncomfortable. Dental implants function like your own teeth, allowing you to eat your favorite foods with confidence and without pain or discomfort.

    • Improved Self-Esteem

Dental implants can give you back your smile and help you feel better about yourself.

    • Improved Oral Health

Dental implants don’t require reducing existing healthy teeth like a tooth-supported bridge sometimes requires. Because nearby teeth are not altered to support the implant, more of your own teeth are left intact, improving your long-term oral health. Individual implants also allow easier access between teeth, improving oral hygiene.

    • Durability

Implants are very durable and will last many years. With good care, many implants last a lifetime.

  • Convenience

Removable dentures are just that; removable. Dental implants eliminate the embarrassing inconvenience of removing your dentures, as well as the need for messy adhesives to keep your dentures in place.

DNA Appliances

Traditional orthodontic treatments often use force braces fixed to the teeth, which are worn all the time. Epigenetic Orthodontics is different because instead of using mechanical forces to move teeth, a patented removable Daytime-Nighttime Appliance® (or DNA appliance®) is worn during the evening and night, and this allows the body to gently correct the positions of the teeth in its own natural way.

The DNA diagnostic support and treatment solutions provide the tools for natural jaw development and airway remodeling through craniofacial enhancement. In addition, the DNA appliance® protocols are effective in addressing issues such as TMD and obstructive sleep apnea in both adults and children without using surgery, drugs or injections.

Sleep Dentistry

Sedation dentistry refers to the use of pharmacological agents to calm and relax a patient prior to and during a dental appointment. The pharmacological agents usually belong to a class of drugs called sedatives, which exert their action by depressing the central nervous system, specifically those areas concerned with conscious awareness.

There are different degrees of central nervous system depression, each corresponding to a level of relaxation which ranges from minimal, moderate, to deep sedation. In general, minimal sedation refers to a patient who has reduced anxiety but is readily responds to verbal or physical stimulation. With moderate sedation the patient is even more relaxed, and will respond to purposeful stimulation. In deep sedation, the patient may not exhibit any signs of consciousness and therefore be unresponsive to stimulation.

OTHER SERVICES WE PROVIDE

For our guests that have pain associated with their bite such as TMJ or TMD, or for guests who have ground their teeth down we will use our Neuromuscular technology to locate the proper position of their bite. We will then have a lower orthotic which is placed over your lower teeth fabricated. This orthotic is a comfortable piece which properly aligns your bite to where our technology shows your bite wants to be. We then have our guest wear this orthotic either at night or at all times depending on the situation.

This is a reversible tool that shows us how the guests responds to this new bite without touching a tooth in the mouth. Many guests are relieved of pain.

A surgical G-neuromuscular or Gneuromuscular dentistry (GNM)/occlusion is nothing more than the combined study of gnathology using the technologies available when explore the mysteries of masticatory muscle system. It is that study of occlusion which applies objective measurement of known physiologic phenomenon to better deliver an occlusal result that is optimally synergistic for teeth, temporomandibular joints and masticatory muscle function and stability.

The philosophical premise of neuromuscular occlusion is foundational to the gneuromuscular approach which is based upon universally accepted medical models of health versus pathogenesis within the gnathologic and neuromuscular community of dentists.  It is a combined approach implementing the best of both disciplines in a logical and conservative manner.

Adults over 35 lose more teeth to gum diseases, (periodontal disease) than from cavities. Three out of four adults are affected at some time in their life. The best way to prevent cavities and periodontal disease is by good tooth brushing and flossing techniques, performed daily, as well as a regularly-scheduled check up with your dentist.

Periodontal disease and decay are both caused by bacterial plaque. Plaque is a colorless film which sticks to your teeth at the gum line. Plaque constantly forms on your teeth. By thorough daily brushing and flossing you can remove these germs and help prevent periodontal disease. However, a professional cleaning by our dental hygienist will remove calculus in places your toothbrush and floss have missed. Your visit to our office is an important part of your program to prevent gum disease. Keep your teeth for your lifetime.

roots

At the center of every tooth is a hollow area that houses soft tissues, including the nerve, blood vessels and connective tissue. This hollow area contains a relatively wide space in the coronal potion of the tooth called the pulp chamber. These canals run through the center of the roots, similar to the way pencil lead runs through a pencil. The pulp receives nutrition through the blood vessels, and sensory nerves carry signals back to the brain. A tooth can be relieved from pain if there is irreversible damage to the pulp, via root canal treatment.

Dr. Jason Lewis uses a Global Surgical Microscope for his endodontic procedures. The dental microscope enhances his vision for all procedures

Because of past experiences, some people will not go to a dentist and are unable to benefit from property dentistry because they are afraid. Sedation dentistry enables patients who have fear or anxiety of dental work to be able to take advantage of modern dentistry procedures. Sedation dentistry does not render you completely unconscious. You are simply relaxed to the point that you will not feel anything throughout your procedure. This can be done with a pill (oral sedation) or IV sedation.

A gum graft is a periodontal procedure to cover an area of exposed tooth root surface with grafted oral tissue. The covering of exposed root surfaces accomplishes a number of objectives: the prevention of further root exposure, decreased or eliminated sensitivity, decreased susceptibility to root caries and cosmetic improvement.

Having a beautiful smile may be even easier than you think. Many people achieve the look they’ve been dreaming of with our simple take home “bleaching” procedure or in office Zoom Whitening.

Dental bleaching can be used to correct some tooth discolorations. These discolorations may have been caused by staining, aging, or chemical damage to teeth. Using the latest in bleaching technology, we can offer a safe method for creating a beautiful smile. In cases of extreme tooth discoloration, crowns or veneers may be the only choice. But because of the low cost of bleaching treatments, bleaching is nearly always worth a try.

Porcelain veneers are thin shells of ceramic that bond directly to the front and top surfaces of the teeth. They are an ideal choice for improving your smile and have become increasingly popular due to their simplicity and versatility. With veneers as an alternative, there is no reason to put up with gaps between your teeth, teeth that are badly shaped, stained, or crooked.

A veneer placed on top of your teeth can correct these maladies, simply and quickly, to help you achieve a beautiful smile!

Scaling and root planning is a careful cleaning of the root surfaces to remove plaque and calculus (tartar) from deep periodontal pockets and to smooth the tooth root to remove bacterial toxins. Scaling and root planning is often followed by adjunctive therapy such as local delivery of antimicrobials and C02 Laser treatments, as needed on a case-by-case basis.

Dental implants require bones underneath them for support and proper integration into the mouth. People who have been edentulous (without teeth) for a prolonged period may not have enough bone left in the necessary locations. In this case, a bone graft may be inserted into the mouth underneath the new implant.

Implant-retained dentures provide an advanced alternative to traditional denture placement, as they are secured in the mouth using titanium implant posts, providing greater strength and stability for the replacement teeth. This technique allows guests with dentures to easily speak and eat without worrying about their dentures slipping out of place. Implants help dentures function just like the patient’s natural teeth.

Where damage to a person’s tooth is extreme, and apparently beyond repair, we can use porcelain crowns or onlays fabricated in one hour to make the smile appear “as new”. The use of Cerec® technology is an extremely reliable technique for repairing the most severe of dental problems. We are renowned for the quality of our work and the fantastic changes we make for people using Cerec® technology. These treatments are used for a long lasting correction of major dental problems.

Healthy gum tissue complements and frames your teeth. If your gums are well contoured, your teeth and smile will look healthier. Laser gum contouring can remove the excess gum tissue around your teeth in order to expose more of the crown of your tooth. Gum contouring can also be used if your gums are uneven around your teeth. Gum contouring can give you a consistent, even gum line you need for a healthy and attractive smile.

Dr. Jason Lewis uses a C02 laser for this treatment.

Most dentistry looks like dentistry. Our goal is to provide dentistry that is undetectable. We replace existing crowns and fillings with restorations that look and feel like your natural teeth. A crown is a type of dental restoration which completely caps or encircles a tooth or dental implant. Crowns or onlays are often needed when a large cavity threatens the ongoing health of a tooth.

All of your teeth play an important role in speaking, chewing and in maintaining proper alignment of other teeth. Tooth loss doesn’t necessarily have to occur as you age, but if you do lose teeth, they must be replaced to maintain proper function of your mouth. Fortunately, there are options for correcting tooth loss.

A bridge is a device used to replace missing teeth. The bridge attaches artificial teeth to adjacent natural teeth, called abutment teeth.

Bridges are permanently attached to adjacent teeth to compliment the form and function of your existing smile.

A full-mouth restoration, also referred to as a full-mouth reconstruction or rehabilitation, involves several cosmetic dentistry procedures designed to improve the health, function and appearance of your smile and bite. Restorations are usually recommended for clients who have teeth that are damaged, worn down, or missing completely and for guests who are suffering from TMJ or TMD. Not only do damaged teeth negatively impact your smile appearance, they can also weaken your chewing ability and create bite imbalance. Depending on your degree of tooth damage, any of these dental treatments may be used to correct tooth condition: porcelain veneers, dental crowns, dental implants, tooth bonding, tooth-colored fillings and dental bridges.

A sinus lift is surgery that adds bone to your upper jaw in the area of your molars and premolars.  It’s sometimes called a sinus augmentation. A sinus lift is done when there is not enough bone height in the upper jaw, or the sinuses are too close to the jaw, for the dental implants to be placed.

The latest conservative gum therapy uses a laser. The laser gently disinfects and evaporates diseased tissues from around the tooth and inside the gum pocket. This treatment interrupts the bacterial destruction of the tissues and bone giving the gum pocket a chance to heal. Systematic repeated visits, generally 2-8, allow the gum pocket to be disease-free and sometimes allow tissues to reattach to the pocket back to a normal or near-normal depth. This new laser therapy is gentle, less painful, and has a quick recovery. While surgery may still be indicated for severely advanced periodontal cases, laser therapy is a much more conservative, effective and comfortable option for beginning to moderate periodontal cases.

A solid porcelain substance fitted to a cavity, fractures or broken section in a tooth and bonded into place. An onlay or inlay is used to restore a tooth when the decay or fracture is so extensive that a composite restoration would compromise the structural integrity of the restored tooth or provide substandard opposition to occlusal or biting forces.

Our goal is to fix sleep apnea and snoring for those who are CPAP intolerant. To help you accomplish this, you will find information to better understand sleep apnea and snoring, along with treatments for these sleep disrupting problems. One of these treatments is the use of a special oral appliance. Dental management of patients with oral appliances just may be the solution you are looking for.

A nightguard or occlusal guard is a protective device for the mout that covers the teeth and sometimes the gums to prevent and reduce injury to the teeth, arches, lips and gums. A mouthguard is most often used to prevent injury in contact sports, as a treatment for bruxism or grinding or TMD, or as part of certain dental procedures, such as tooth bleaching.

You and Dr. Jason Lewis may determine that you need a tooth removed for any number of reasons. Some teeth are extracted because they are severely decayed; others may have advanced periodontal disease, or have broken in a way that cannot be repaired. Other teeth may need removal because they are poorly positioned in the mouth (such as impacted teeth), or in preparation for orthodontic treatment.

The removal of a single tooth can lead to problems related to your chewing ability, problems with your jaw joint, and shifting teeth, which can have a major impact on your dental health. To avoid these complications, in most cases, Dr. Jason Lewis will discuss alternatives to extractions as well as replacement of the extracted tooth.

Tooth bonding is well suited for minor cosmetic updates, temporary correction of cosmetic defects, and teeth repair in areas of very low bite pressure. Bonding involves a special resin material being applied to your teeth. This resin bonds to your teeth and hardens to become very strong and beautiful.

We are a mercury-free practice. However, many people still have silver/mercury fillings in their mouths from years past. These fillings are not particularly pleasing to the eye, and we know that by unavoidable design, silver/mercury fillings ultimately result in a weaker tooth structure. Porcelain inlays and Tooth Colored Restorations (onlays) create fillings that are not only beautiful (or unnoticeable) but also add strength to weakened teeth.

These restorations are esthetically pleasing and very strong thanks to new bonding technologies. Inlays/onlays and crowns can be made in a single visit thanks to new technology.

The removal of a frenulum, a small fold of tissue that prevents an organ in the body from moving too far. Done mostly for orthodontic purposes, a frenectomy is either performed inside the middle of upper lip, which is called labial frenectomy, or under the tongue, called lingual frenectomy.

Nitrous Oxide is a sweet smelling, non irritating, colorless gas which you can breathe when combined with oxygen. Guests may use this to relax during their dental procedure.

TECHNOLOGY

Cerec Omnicam is the latest dental restoration product that allows Dr. Jason Lewis to produce an indirect ceramic dental restoration using a variety of computer assisted technologies, including 3D photography and CAD/CAM.  With Cerec, teeth can be restored in a single sitting with the guest, rather than the multiple sittings required with earlier techniques.

This benefits our guests by:

1) only having to get numb one time;
2) not having to wear a temporary;
3) only having one visit at the dental office instead of two; and
4) saving our guests precious time.

While some offices prefer placing onlays and crowns without staining and glazing, Dr. Jason Lewis will only permanently place a Cerec onlay or crown after he has stained and glazed the restoration and placed it in the glazing and crystallization furnace.

This process gives the restoration a superior lab quality and esthetic.

Traditional dental extraction techniques often results in fracture or deformation of the dentoalveolar housing. This trauma typically results in post extraction ridge defects that may preclude treatment with dental implants. Dr. Jason preserves as much bone as possible during an extraction to increase the success of subsequent restorative procedures.

The Powertome is a great tool to use for extractions to preserve the bone of our guests.

Planmeca’s ProMax 3D with patented SCARA technology is a multi-purpose unit that provides clear, dependable 2D/3D imaging. This state-of-the-art approach to dental diagnostics is similar to a CAT scan and provides the same benefits as well. Using 3D dental imaging, we are able to identify dental problems with greater accuracy. Rather than generating a two-dimensional image, the imaging technology creates a three-dimensional model that can be analyzed from different angles. Dr. Jason Lewis can even examine cross sections from this digital model for an even better analysis of the soft tissues and hard tissues or your mouth.

Dr. Lewis uses this technology for various procedures such as dental implants, sinus augmentations, bone grafts, endodontic therapy, TMJ and TMD issues, and other diagnostic requirements.

Digital radiography is a form of X-ray imaging, where digital X-ray sensors are used instead of traditional photographic film. Advantages include time efficiency through bypassing chemical processing and the ability to digitally transfer and enhance images.

Also, less radiation can be used to produce an image of similar contrast to conventional radiography.

Dr. Jason Lewis takes every step to reduce the amount of radiation to our guests.

The DIAGNOdent aids in the early detection of decay. Even very small lesions and incipient caries can be detected, enabling Dr. Jason Lewis to protect and preserve the tooth structure.
Milestone Scientific’s award-winning, The Wand Computer Guided Anesthesia System, combines patented, state-of-the-art computer-controlled injection technology with Dr. Jason Lewis’ training to achieve more precise injections, improved drug delivery and materially enhanced guest comfort levels.

Our guests love this technology.

Despite improvements in dental care, millions of Americans suffer tooth loss – mostly due to tooth decay, gum disease, or injury. For many years, the only treatment options available for guests with missing teeth were bridges and dentures. But, today, dental implants are fantastic. Dr. Jason Lewis has obtained an extensive and varied training in the correct procedures for dental implants.

Dr. Jason Lewis uses a variety of implants depending upon the situation.

Dr. Jason’s goal for all implants is to promote bone growth, function and aesthetics.

Dentists worldwide recognize Global Surgical Corporation as the leader in dental microscopy. The dental microscope enhances Dr. Jason Lewis’ vision for all procedures. The clear magnified images that are possible with a dental microscope provide details that are difficult to see even with dental loupes.

A microscope benefits every procedure by helping Dr. Jason Lewis better diagnose and predictably treat his guests.

Dr. Jason Lewis is able to use minimally invasive surgical techniques with the DEKA Smart C02 Laser, the most advanced soft tissue laser available. This Laser shortens surgical time for our guests and increases the level of care, while enhancing the postoperative results. In addition, it is a great tool for guests who are dealing with gum disease and in our smile designs.
The purpose of Dental Telescopes is to enhance or magnify an image to insure the highest quality results in dental procedures.
The K7 Evaluation System is a computer-based system for three dimensional jaw tracking, surface electromyography and temporomandibular joint sound study.

It is a tool that Dr. Jason Lewis utilizes to help our guests get out of pain and ensure that their restorations will function and last long.

The J5 Myomonitor TENS unit is a muscle stimulator used to create a physiologically relaxed state of the muscles of mastication.

This is a tool Dr. Jason Lewis uses when determining a guest’s neuromuscular bite.

The T-Scan is a diagnostic device that records our guests’ bite force dynamics, including occlusal force, location and timing.
The WatchPAT is an FDA-approved diagnostic device that uses innovative technology to ensure the accurate detection of sleep apnea. Its ease of use is unparalleled and it is greatly complemented by the fact that WatchPAT testing is done in the comfort of your own bedroom, an environment that best reflects the pattern of your sleep habits. WatchPAT monitors changes in peripheral arterial tone and activity, as well as in blood oxygen saturation levels. It also identifies sleep apnea events just like the equipment used in polysomnography (PSG) sleep studies performed in hospital sleep labs.

This tool allows Dr. Jason Lewis gather information and pass the information on to an MD to determine if our guests suffer from sleep apnea.

To fight periodontal disease, we need to reduce laqu, tartar, and the number of bacteria in the pockets in your mouth. One device we use to remove calculus from teeth is an ultrasonic scaler.

The benefits of ultrasonic scaling to our guests include:

1) increased efficiency of calculus removal

2) Less need for hand scaling of stubborn deposits

3) More comfortable access to the root surfaces.

Our Hygienist, Monica, uses this as a tool during our guests hygiene visits.

Successful root canal therapy requires accurate location of the apical foramen. The apical foramen is the opening at the apex of the root of a tooth, through which the nerve and blood vessels that supply the dental pulp pass.

An apex locator is used in conjunction with radiography, in many cases, as an additional measure to ensure proper determination of the canal length.
