Dr. Jason R. Lewis’ Technology Investments
Dr. Jason R. Lewis will always strive to remain at the forefront of dental technology. He is very careful to research the technology to determine how it will benefit our guests comfort, treatment and health. Once the determination is made that it is beneficial and Dr. Jason Lewis has chosen the best brand he makes the investment to improve his guest’s dental health.
Cerec Omnicam is the latest dental restoration product that allows Dr. Jason Lewis to produce an indirect ceramic dental restoration using a variety of computer assisted technologies, including 3D photography and CAD/CAM. With Cerec, teeth can be restored in a single sitting with the guest, rather than the multiple sittings required with earlier techniques.
This benefits our guests by:
1) only having to get numb one time;
2) not having to wear a temporary;
3) only having one visit at the dental office instead of two; and
4) saving our guests precious time.
The Ceramic Furnace
While some offices prefer placing onlays and crowns without staining and glazing, Dr. Jason Lewis will only permanently place a Cerec onlay or crown after he has stained and glazed the restoration and placed it in the glazing and crystallization furnace.
This process gives the restoration a superior lab quality and esthetic.
The Powertome Periotome
Traditional dental extraction techniques often results in fracture or deformation of the dentoalveolar housing. This trauma typically results in post extraction ridge defects that may preclude treatment with dental implants. Dr. Jason preserves as much bone as possible during an extraction to increase the success of subsequent restorative procedures.
The Powertome is a great tool to use for extractions to preserve the bone of our guests.
Planmeca’s ProMax 3D
Planmeca’s ProMax 3D with patented SCARA technology is a multi-purpose unit that provides clear, dependable 2D/3D imaging. This state-of-the-art approach to dental diagnostics is similar to a CAT scan and provides the same benefits as well. Using 3D dental imaging, we are able to identify dental problems with greater accuracy. Rather than generating a two-dimensional image, the imaging technology creates a three-dimensional model that can be analyzed from different angles. Dr. Jason Lewis can even examine cross sections from this digital model for an even better analysis of the soft tissues and hard tissues or your mouth.
Dr. Lewis uses this technology for various procedures such as dental implants, sinus augmentations, bone grafts, endodontic therapy, TMJ and TMD issues, and other diagnostic requirements.
Digital X-ray Technology
Digital radiography is a form of X-ray imaging, where digital X-ray sensors are used instead of traditional photographic film. Advantages include time efficiency through bypassing chemical processing and the ability to digitally transfer and enhance images.
Also, less radiation can be used to produce an image of similar contrast to conventional radiography.
Dr. Jason Lewis takes every step to reduce the amount of radiation to our guests.
The DIAGNOdent aids in the early detection of decay. Even very small lesions and incipient caries can be detected, enabling Dr. Jason Lewis to protect and preserve the tooth structure.
Milestone Scientific’s award-winning, The Wand Computer Guided Anesthesia System, combines patented, state-of-the-art computer-controlled injection technology with Dr. Jason Lewis’ training to achieve more precise injections, improved drug delivery and materially enhanced guest comfort levels.
Our guests love this technology.
Despite improvements in dental care, millions of Americans suffer tooth loss – mostly due to tooth decay, gum disease, or injury. For many years, the only treatment options available for guests with missing teeth were bridges and dentures. But, today, dental implants are fantastic. Dr. Jason Lewis has obtained an extensive and varied training in the correct procedures for dental implants.
Dr. Jason Lewis uses a variety of implants depending upon the situation.
Dr. Jason’s goal for all implants is to promote bone growth, function and aesthetics.
Dentists worldwide recognize Global Surgical Corporation as the leader in dental microscopy. The dental microscope enhances Dr. Jason Lewis’ vision for all procedures. The clear magnified images that are possible with a dental microscope provide details that are difficult to see even with dental loupes.
A microscope benefits every procedure by helping Dr. Jason Lewis better diagnose and predictably treat his guests.
DEKA C02 Laser
Dr. Jason Lewis is able to use minimally invasive surgical techniques with the DEKA Smart C02 Laser, the most advanced soft tissue laser available. This Laser shortens surgical time for our guests and increases the level of care, while enhancing the postoperative results. In addition, it is a great tool for guests who are dealing with gum disease and in our smile designs.
The purpose of Dental Telescopes is to enhance or magnify an image to insure the highest quality results in dental procedures.
The K7 Evaluation System is a computer-based system for three dimensional jaw tracking, surface electromyography and temporomandibular joint sound study.
It is a tool that Dr. Jason Lewis utilizes to help our guests get out of pain and ensure that their restorations will function and last long.
The J5 Myomonitor TENS unit is a muscle stimulator used to create a physiologically relaxed state of the muscles of mastication.
This is a tool Dr. Jason Lewis uses when determining a guest’s neuromuscular bite.
T-Scan Computerized Occlusal Analysis
The T-Scan is a diagnostic device that records our guests’ bite force dynamics, including occlusal force, location and timing.
The WatchPAT is an FDA-approved diagnostic device that uses innovative technology to ensure the accurate detection of sleep apnea. Its ease of use is unparalleled and it is greatly complemented by the fact that WatchPAT testing is done in the comfort of your own bedroom, an environment that best reflects the pattern of your sleep habits. WatchPAT monitors changes in peripheral arterial tone and activity, as well as in blood oxygen saturation levels. It also identifies sleep apnea events just like the equipment used in polysomnography (PSG) sleep studies performed in hospital sleep labs.
This tool allows Dr. Jason Lewis gather information and pass the information on to an MD to determine if our guests suffer from sleep apnea.
To fight periodontal disease, we need to reduce laqu, tartar, and the number of bacteria in the pockets in your mouth. One device we use to remove calculus from teeth is an ultrasonic scaler.
The benefits of ultrasonic scaling to our guests include:
1) increased efficiency of calculus removal
2) Less need for hand scaling of stubborn deposits
3) More comfortable access to the root surfaces.
Our Hygienist, Monica, uses this as a tool during our guests hygiene visits.
Successful root canal therapy requires accurate location of the apical foramen. The apical foramen is the opening at the apex of the root of a tooth, through which the nerve and blood vessels that supply the dental pulp pass.
An apex locator is used in conjunction with radiography, in many cases, as an additional measure to ensure proper determination of the canal length.
